The History of TASHKEEL Quarterly

The magazine Tashkeel quarterly was pulished originally as book series from 1978 to 1985. Declaration for publication of Tashkeel quarterly was obtained in 1990, since then 45 issues have been published so far. Ahmad Hamesh and Injila Hamesh are editors of the magazine & Tariq Raees Farough is Assitant Editor , while Fareed Ahmed is manager of the magazine, the initial issues of Tashkeel carried selected article/poetry/fiction etc of renowned writers. After 1998-99 a significant change in the style and content were introduced since then Tashkeel became and standard magazine of international repute because of not only its creative contributions and alsobecause of its knowledgeagble and highly scholarly articles/poetry/fiction etc. and also very popular with its discerning readers, who gave special importance to the disclosures of literary mafia operations, literary conspiracies and other interesting secrets. Readers of Tashkeel anxiously await publication of next issue.

It is essential to continue the publication of Tashkeel and also to avoid delay in publication for which it is necessary for the readers of Tashkeel to become annual/life members which would be grand service not only to Tashkeel but also to Urdu literature and language by its lovers. Mr. Shamsur-Rehman Farooqi greatest living legend and scholar of Urdu language and literature considers Tashkeel magazine as one of the best Urdu literary magazine of high standard.
